The Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, through The National Coordinator Training and Technical Assistance Center for Drug Prevention and School Safety Program Coordinators, is currently offering on-line prevention training for on-going professional development.
Nine web courses have been developed for substance abuse and violence prevention as a resource for professional development. These online events incorporate research-based strategies for changing practitioner behavior and organizational practices. The training includes the following units of instruction:

- Identifying Priorities and Strategies for Success
- Selecting Research-Based Programs for your School
- Implementing Research-Based Prevention Programs in Schools
- Sustaining your Prevention Initiative
- Linking Violence and Substance Abuse Prevention to Academic Success
- Crisis Response: Creating Safe Schools Middle School Coordinators as Change Agents
Each of these web-based events incorporates a variety of learning modalities that have been evaluated by coordinators in the field. Evaluations indicate that the online courses are of high quality, applicable to a variety of prevention settings, content rich and easy to use.
